KU has been known as a powerhouse of the Big 12. Although this current 2017-2018 season is rockier than most, the boys earned another Kansas Jayhawks Conference Championship. The Hawks secured 14 consecutive Big 12 titles since 2005. This year, Texas Tech gave KU a run for their money, but the Hawks pulled off a W in Lubbock by just two points. Giving them at least a piece of the Big 12 Conference Title! Then came Senior night at Allen Fieldhouse and KU beat the longhords 80-70 to secure an outright conference title. The Jayhawks are now a solo champion!
Kansas Jayhawks Conference Championship History
The Hawks have a great history of all sorts: the birthplace of basketball, five National Championships, KU vs K-State rivalry, Hall of Fame coaches and many many years of success. The Jayhawks top the charts in tradition and history. However, until recently, the tradition and history seemed to come second because of a new tradition and history in the making. Ever since 2005, the has repeatedly won 13 Kansas Jayhawks Conference Championships. Only one other team in the entire NCAA D1 men’s college league can claim 13 conference titles in a row: UCLA Bruins. Kansas now has their 14th consecutive Kansas Jayhawks Conference Championship along with years and years of success in their conferences.
