Kansas Basketball officially released their non-conference schedule for the 2021-2022 season on Wednesday.
Games on the schedule include matchups with Michigan State and Missouri, along with a potential blue-blood matchup in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Multiple signs point to a Kansas-Kentucky matchup in January. If it is not Kansas and Kentucky, look for the Jayhawks to host Alabama or Arkansas. In late November, the Jayhawks will have a chance to play Alabama at the ESPN Events Invitational.

Kansas will look to improve on a year that many consider one of coach Bill Self’s worst seasons at Kansas. The Jayhawks went 21-9 in the regular season, including 12-6 in conference play. Kansas earned a No. 3 seed in the tournament, but suffered a blowout loss to No. 6 seed USC in the round of 32.
With a maximum of only six scholarship players returning, Kansas will be a largely new team in 2021. With the additions of key transfers Remy Martin and Joseph Yesufu, Kansas could be scary. The Jayhawks have been placed in the top five of almost every preseason poll this offseason. If the Jayhawks are able to bring back star players Ochai Agbaji and Jalen Wilson from the draft, the squad will be one of the heavy favorites to win it all going into March.
