The Kansas Jayhawks (22-4, 11-2) moved up a spot to No. 5 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 rankings. Kansas went a perfect 2-0 on the week with wins over Oklahoma State and West Virginia.
The Jayhawks head into the week with a pair of tough games (we know…shocker!!) in Big 12 play. Kansas will host in-state rival Kansas State (14-12, 6-8) on Tuesday, Feb. 22, followed by a trip to Waco, Tex. on Saturday to visit No. 10 Baylor (22-5, 10-4). | GET KU-KSU TICKETS
With just two weeks left in the regular season, the No. 5 Jayhawks will look to keep pace atop the Big 12, one of the toughest leagues in the country. Kansas currently holds a 2-game lead in the loss column, and a 2-0 week would all but lock up at least a share of the regular season crown.

Kansas is in the top five of the rankings for the first time since January. The team has a chance to solidify their chances at a No. 1 seed in the upcoming 68-team tournament in March this week, but 2-0 likely isn’t necessary. For the Jayhawks, the resume building is simple:
- Win the Big 12 Regular Season Championship outright
- Make the Big 12 Tournament Championship game on Mar. 12
If Kansas can do those two things, there’s no reason to think they won’t enter the tourney as a No. 1 seed next month.
