The University of Kansas men’s basketball team released the Jayhawks’ 2019-20 nonconference schedule on June 3. The Jayhawks will yet again play one of the toughest nonconference schedules in the country, headlined by a season-opening matchup against the Duke Blue Devils at Madison Square Garden and a trip to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. The school released the Jayhawk’s 2019-20 nonconference schedule on their website on Tuesday morning.

The Jayhawks will travel to New York City for their annual game in the State Farm Champions Classic on Nov. 5 inside The Garden, this time squaring off with Duke. The Jayhawks will then return home for a pair of home Friday night matchups against UNC Greensboro and Monmouth on Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 before facing off with East Tennessee State on Tuesday, Nov. 19 inside Allen Fieldhouse to open the Maui Jim Maui Invitational.
The Jayhawks are returning to the Maui Invitational for the first time since the team won the whole thing in 2015. Games are set to take place in Maui on Nov. 25-27, with potential opponents for the Jayhawks including Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Georgia and UCLA.
After Kansas returns home from Hawaii, they will host former Big 12 foe Colorado on Dec. 7 inside Allen Fieldhouse, followed by another home matchup against the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Dec. 10. The Jayhawks will then hit the road for a trio of games, including a neutral site game against UMKC for the Jayhawk Shootout inside the Sprint Center on Dec. 14.
Kansas then will head to the east coast for their first true road test of the season on Saturday, Dec. 14 when they battle Villanova as part of the Big East Series. It will mark the third straight season that Kansas and Villanova will face off. Kansas will then head west after the holiday to take on Stanford on Dec. 29 in California.

Kansas will return to Allen Fieldhouse for their final nonconference tilt of the season on Saturday, Jan. 25 for the Big 12/SEC Challenge. The opponent that the Jayhawks will face has not been announced. Kansas and Kentucky squared off in the event in two of the last three seasons, with the Jayhawks hosting Texas A&M in 2018. Since the Big 12 hast just ten teams, the bottom four finishers in the SEC from the previous season do not participate in the Challenge, leaving former Big 12 schools Texas A&M and Missouri out of the running to face the Jayhawks. The Jayhawks will likely face Tennessee or Kentucky on Jan. 25 but could also face SEC Champion LSU or even be awarded a rematch of their NCAA tournament matchup with the Auburn Tigers.
